What started as a venture studio concept on a flight from NY to LA in 1989, ended as a digital transformation firm of today.

Meet the Founder

Steve Huey
Investor, Mentor, Serial Entrepreneur

For the past two decades, Steve has been a leader in integrating cutting-edge technologies into already existing markets that desperately need them. Most recently as founder and CEO of TYP64, this venture-studio-meets-buyout-fund helps legacy companies implement digital transformation solutions to reinvigorate their business.

TYP64 has been on Steve’s radar since 1989. Before he was building and selling, he was buying and selling. Steve helped lead $4B in M&A for CMGI during the height of the DOT.COM era and held director positions at software firms Earthlink and Alluria. It was during this time that Steve started to build the tools and teams necessary to lead successful mergers, recapitalizations and exits for founders and management teams alike. At TYP64, we bring a lifetime of experience to our portfolio companies to create massive amounts of value leveraging Digital Transformation strategies.

Steve has built quite a resume out of the office as well. He’s been featured in Forbes’ Built to Sell, 2018 Kentucky Mentor of the Year, and is consistently acknowledged as a top regional entrepreneur to know. Steve has won dozens of other national awards and rankings and is a part of the prestigious Endeavour Entrepreneur network that honors high-impact entrepreneurs across the world. Steve has helped lead several successful exits, most recently as chairman of the publicly traded marketing automation software firm, Sharpspring.

During Steve’s tenure as Chairman of the Board, Sharpspring (SHSP) was trading at $4.00 per share and saw a jump to $17.00 per share prior to its sale to Constant Contact. He also has several successful recapitalization efforts, including as CEO and COO of two industry-leading higher education software firms. While most of his time is committed to TYP64 and its portfolio firms, he still finds time to chair several boards and mentor CEOs across the country.

Together we will ascend to that which we have not seen.
